Wash on a gentle cycle with a mild detergent. Dry flat and avoid direct sunlight.

2. How often should I wash my quilt?

It is recommended you use your quilt in conjunction with a flat sheet. If this is the case, your quilt should not need washing more than once a month.

3. Why does my new quilt feel so stiff?

That is because it is new and the fabrics might still contain some starch, however this will wash out and your quilt will continue becoming softer the more it is used.

Why are quilts expensive?

1. Craftsmanship and Labour:

Quilting is a meticulous craft that requires significant time and skill. From designing the quilt to cutting, sewing, and finishing, each step demands attention to detail and expertise. Lazuli and Shiweh quilts are handmade, which adds to their uniqueness and labour costs.

2. Quality Materials:

High-quality fabrics, batting, and thread are essential for creating durable and beautiful quilts. Premium materials can be more expensive, but they contribute to the quilt's longevity, functionality and overall aesthetic.

3. Design Complexity:

Intricate patterns and designs require more planning and skill. Quilts with detailed stitching or unique layouts often take longer to create, increasing the overall cost.

4. Durability and Investment:

A well-made quilt is designed to last for generations, making it a valuable investment. Unlike mass-produced items, a quality quilt tells a story and can become a cherished heirloom.

By understanding the artistry, materials, and effort that go into each quilt, you can appreciate their value and the joy they bring to your home.
